Our Lemongrass-Peppermint Hydrosol is perfect for your daily facial routine, or for a little "time out" from the day, when you need an inspiring, aromatic break.

Lemongrass (Cymbopogon), native to South Asia, is now grown in many parts of the world, and offers a host of medicinal and culinary uses. The West Indian Cymbopogon Citratus, with that distinctive, alluring and lemony scent, is the variety we use in steam distillate form to create our 100% pure organic hydrosols.

Cymbopogon, with its elegant fronds and magenta tips, acts with powerful antifungal and antimicrobial properties. One of the plant's most intriguing applications is its use as a preservative, directly applied to ancient palm leaf manuscripts. Some sacred texts date back to the 5th century. Lemongrass oil infuses a natural suppleness into the otherwise very fragile leaves, and acts as a water repellent to keep them dry and prevent deterioration. Naturally, lemongrass is also a fragrant solution for nurturing your youthful glow.

Our second key ingredient for this hydrosol is peppermint, or Mentha piperita, a hybrid between watermint and spearmint. Native to Europe and the Middle East, leafy peppermint also has multiple uses in cosmetics, medicine and cuisine. Its menthol aroma is known for a refreshing, cleansing effect. Peppermint gives a revitalizing, rejuvenating sensation and even has analgesic properties.

To create our hydrosols, the plants are gently steamed in a traditional copper still, then cooled and mixed with organic apple cider vinegar and the Mother. The attractive bottle has a misting spray nozzle, allowing for a quick and uplifting facial toner, a cool relief from long hours of travel, a refreshment for your yoga mat, or a pick-me-up anytime throughout your day. The antimicrobial qualities tightens pores, firms the skin, and helps clear up blemishes. This hydrosol works wonders for oil-prone, combination and sensitive skin.
